Children's Cancer Research

Dianne Troop

Founded by her Daughter, Dianne Troop

The Jeanette Williams Foundation is a nonprofit, 501-C-3 Organization created to help in the research to find a cure for children's cancer.

Establishing a foundation for children's cancer research has been a lifelong dream of Dianne Troop, Founder of the Jeanette Williams Foundation, and that dream has now come to fruition. The goal and purpose of the foundation is to raise funds that would go toward children's cancer research. This disease takes too many lives, especially the children. After many years of participation in various philanthropies involved in helping treat and cure this disease it became apparent to Troop to work for the children in a more "hands on" way.

Beginning with her mother, Jeanette Williams, when Troop was twelve years old, cancer has taken nine of her immediate family members, including both parents and all four grandparents. Troop and her brother are the only remaining family members.

Their mother battled cancer for three years before her death. Her brother joined the service, and she went to live with their grandparents. One year after the death of their mother they lost their grandmother.

A large portion of Troop's adolescence was spent at the hospital with family members. During those days the nurses would take her to visit the children's ward to play with children her own age. Early on she recognized the plight of young children facing long infirmary confinements; she realized many of these children would never have a life outside the hospital walls. When Troop reflected on that experience she realized it was the pivotal point that determined her mission in life; to do all she could to make children's lives better. During the last five years she has worked for and with children, experiencing many wonderful success stories.

Each year the foundation has hosted a golf tournament with the proceeds exceeding the prevous year. In addition there is an annual art show and the foundation plans to continue this event along with others now on the drawing board.

We invite you to visit our website (www.jwffccr.org) which gives our mission statement, has a photo gallery showing our previous events, a calendar showing our upcoming events, an "art gallery" with purchase information and information on making a donation.

We thank you for your support and may God bless and keep you in good health.
