the healing light for children and families
As the sun was setting the Spirit of Texas paddle wheeler pulled away from the docks at South Shore Harbour Marina. Moving through the channel, guests on board enjoyed the lively music and gay lights lining the Kemah Boardwalk.  On board, Southbound provided some great dance music while guests enjoyed a delicious dinner provided by Opus Bistro and of course a few libations.

The monies raised through a raffle, a silent auction and a live auction will help to fund the expenses for children with cancer and their families to enjoy a week at a camp.  For that week, these children can “just be kids”.

Involved with various philanthropies, Dianne Troop, founder of the Jeanette Williams Foundation, decided to work with children in a more hands-on way because this disease takes too many lives, especially those of children.
Establishing a foundation for children with cancer has been a lifelong dream of Dianne's.
